Mirah - Lighthouse

Mirah - Lighthouse

With flute and some percussion, a combo organ track, and a short-attack synth bass, Mirah brings together some unlikely elements to deliver a roots concoction all her own. It features a beautiful vocal track and some really distinct electric guitar sprinkled over the chorus. An Eastern-inspired tabla-pocket meshes nicely with the sputtering bass and layers of falsetto.

Dynamically, the bridge is where the big reveal is, it's a culmination of theme and intent and is the key to understanding the song:

I want the lighthouse to be on
when the evening’s coming on
because when the lighthouse isn’t on
the night can feel so long
— Mirah

It's a vocal and lyrical style that feels original, inspired, and immediately familiar.
