INK. - Fever

The first thing I heard was Simple Minds. You don't hear that crispy baritone much anymore so it's really nice to hear it from Todd Dorigo. Obsessed with the Beat Generation and the work of Ralph Steadman, singer-guitarist Dorigo and bassist Dougie Poynter have put together a dance-rock sound that feels like the club band in a spy thriller. We're drinking the Blue label tonight my friends.

We like the fast 8s on the bass and the screaming fuzz guitar. We also hear some INXS in the funky picking and those bridge harmonies.

The band name, "INK.", is a reference to Steadman which could be a visual zen of the old favorite "let it be". Let the true light shine. We are glad that Dougie and Todd saw each other around London enough for them to hook up with drummer Corey Alexander. Here's to hoping that organic process of letting each song rise from a thematic seed will continue to bear such wild fruit.
